Blackpool Cenotaph and Grand Metropole Hotel
The Cenotaph at Blackpool commemorates the lives of those lost in the wars and is close to Blackpool's North Pier. The National Veteran's Day celebrations began here, at the newly restored cenotaph monument in 2008 as part of the National Veteran's Week. It was the largest ever Veteran's Day Parade.

Just behind is the Grand Metropole Hotel - the only hotel in Blackpool between the sea and the promenade, which means it has fantastic views straight out to sea. It has a distinctive Victorian architecture, which has been maintained inside and out. From here it is just a short stroll to Blackpool's famous North Pier.
